Meet Molly Bates Tetteh
Hi, I’m Molly — a licensed integrative psychotherapist and the founder of Soho Psychotherapy, where I help clients heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse issues and the lingering effects of growing up in chaotic or dysfunctional environments.
In the more than 15 years of my career, I’ve supported adults, college students, and emerging professionals as they navigate complex emotional landscapes and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. I also support women who are struggling with fertility, prenatal, and postnatal issues, and want to address their own trauma as a step in their family planning.
My approach blends deep psychodynamic insight with experiential, body-based modalities rooted in neuroscience and attachment theory. I’m trained and certified in a range of evidence-based methods, including:
Certified Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM)
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)
Somatic Experiencing (SE)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness & Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Safe & Sound Protocol
Polyvagal Theory
Attachment Theory and Styles
Certified Rape Crisis Counseling/Advocacy
As a former Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist, I am a wellness insider with firsthand knowledge of the powerful healing that can occur in these communities. I have also seen how those seeking healing have been taken advantage of in their vulnerability and desire to heal. I have worked with clients in my clinical practice who have had both these experiences, or a combination of both.
Before founding Soho Psychotherapy, I served as Clinical Director for an independent residential living program in Washington, D.C., where I launched the first satellite location and specialized in supporting college students and their families.
I’ve also held leadership and clinical roles at Hazelden Betty Ford in New York City, multiple substance abuse agencies, New York City emergency departments, and both partial and inpatient psychiatric programs and sober living programs. As Clinical Director and Supervisor, I’ve created and overseen meditation, nutrition, and mindfulness-based programming and curriculum that integrate holistic wellness into traditional mental health care.
A long-time New Yorker and proud Brooklynite, I now live in Harlem with my family. I love hiking, museums and the beach!
